Originally from Winston-Salem, NC. I rode a lot of miles with him when I first started riding (he lived right up the street from me). Made a name for himself in the mid to late-80s as a top Category II road rider on the east coast. First pro team was Schwinn-Wheaties, where he wore the first leader's jersey in the first Tour de Trump (later the Tour duPont) by winning the prologue. Later rode one season for 7-Eleven, where he started but failed to finish the Giro, before riding several seasons for Chevrolet/LA Sheriff. Still rides and kicks ass as a masters rider. A good cat, and a very savvy rider.
