Fresh vs sando

Fresh had to dislocate his jaw to enjoy this sando. For the record, not a single crumb went to waist. Cory Coletti thanked us for our "leisurely pace" on Old Santa Cruz Highway. Little did she know, she could have dropped us all.

Olivia Jane & Jaden Jane

These two mermaids have been known to surface for a dollar slice and some pirates booty on wednesday afternoons.

Steinbeck Country

Thank god the pace dropped when we hooked a right on the Thurwacker Bridge. I think I had enough lactic acid built up to tranquilize a horse or better yet, Ginger Baker. Thanks for a great ride, the wonderful baked goods and may the wind always be at your 6.

Fast Freddy Markham

While pedaling through the Santa Cruz Mountains today, Doug E. Fresh
and I ran into our long time friend Fast Freddy. He had a custom
"Markham" carbon frame with DA and of course 'sew-ups'. This 2 time
Olympian and 20+ world record holder was looking lean and mean! I
wonder what its like to pedal at 71 mph? He is like a wizard on the bike
and descends better than Trent Klasna. I learned how to suffer while starring
at his rear hub in the mid 80's.

San Benito County, home to "benitoite"

Old Hernandez Road X of Coalinga Road. This is where benitoite was discovered and named. Can't you just here the peleton descending? What is "benitoite"? Stay tuned.

Steve Bauer's "stealth bike"

Steve designed this custom Eddy Merckx himself. My buddies thought I was crazy when I described the drastic seat tube and head tube angles of this machine. I finally found a photograph of Steve racing this funky rig in the 93' Paris Roubaix. Check out the clearance in the rear triangle. They had to add almost 10 links of chain. For the record, Gilbert duclus- Lassalle won that year (using a rockshock) and Steve was 22nd.

Bruce McTyrebyter

Meet Bruce McTyrebyter. He is one of three applicants who have made the final cut for the Steel Wül security job. We are almost through his extensive background check. His parole agent recommended that he give back to the cycling community and offer up his unrivaled "security" skills. His resume states he only did a "nickel" in Chino and that he was innocent and don't "hate". I was a little concerned during the phone interview when I could hear his "buddies" in the background asking what flavor tires we ride.

Der Kaiser,........ and his get away sticks!

Jan is arguably the most decorated cyclist of all time. He has the gnarliest
pair of drumsticks, pins, pillars, stems, uprights, get away sticks, gams, aka -Legs. Needing a little inspiration this winter? Check this out!

Happy Birthday Piotr Ugrumov

Piotr Ugrumov was born 1-1-1961.

The Latvian rider was twice runner-up to Miguel Indurain in the Grand Tour events: once in the Tour de France and once in the Giro d'Italia. In the 1994 Tour de France he attacked Big Mig on the Col du La Bonnet and absolutly shattered the field.
